Insurance Coverage
You don't need insurance to use Sway. Authorized drivers are covered by Sway's insurance.
How It Works
Authorized Drivers (“Drivers”) who meet all of the conditions contained in the Terms of Service are covered by Sway’s insurance, with limitations as described in the Terms of Service. This coverage is typically the minimum required by the state in which the vehicle is located. You may, and are encouraged to, purchase separate coverage through your insurance provider.
This coverage is subject to a deductible, or the amount you must pay prior to what insurance pays. For example, if there are $500 of damages to the vehicle and the deductible, as shown below, is more than $500, then you must pay the full $500.
Sway’s policy for uninsured or underinsured motorists varies by state, meaning that even if you are not at fault you may be liable for damages. For example, there is no uninsured or underinsured coverage for property damage.

Michigan PIP limitations have been elected, please contact Sway Support for additional detail.
